The old abandoned church house
On the hill above the town;
Still stands as a beacon
Of God’s pure love come down.
This old abandoned church
Has stood for many years;
It has weathered many storms,
It has calmed many fears.
From it’s humble pulpit
Has come the word of truth;
A message of transformation
For the elders and the youth.
But the little town is gone,
Wiped out by a flood;
Scattered is the flock
Who were washed in the blood.
But that old church house,
It still stands proud and tall;
A beacon of hope and love,
Still calling one and all.
To the joys of salvation,
Sent down from above;
A hospital for the broken,
A storehouse of God’s love.
