Roadside streams are common
when exploring the mountains,
but finding a new one
still sparks a special joy.
Every stream is different,
some shallow and fast-flowing,
others deep and mild.
They bring their unique character
to this mountain world
and help transform it
by carving paths through the rock.
Traveling with one
is a simple joy
capable of creating wonder
as you watch the water
tumble over rocks
and under fallen logs
as it makes its way
down the mountain.
